Article 9: Two-Factor Authentication: A Simple Way to Secure Your Facebook Login

If you use Facebook for marketing, you should consider enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account from unauthorized access. 2FA adds an extra layer of security to your login process by requiring you to enter a code from your phone or an authentication app, in addition to your password. Here are some reasons why you should use 2FA on Facebook:

- 2FA prevents hackers from accessing your account even if they know your password. Unless they have access to your phone or authentication app, they won't be able to log in as you.

- 2FA helps you recover your account if you forget your password or lose access to your email. You can use your phone number or authentication app to reset your password and regain control of your account.

- 2FA gives you more options to secure your account. You can choose between using text messages (SMS), a security key, or a third-party authentication app such as Google Authenticator or Authy as your primary security method. You can also set up recovery codes that you can use in case you lose access to your phone or authentication app.

To enable 2FA on Facebook, follow these steps:

- Go to your Security and Login Settings.

- Scroll down to Use two-factor authentication and click Edit.

- Choose your preferred security method and follow the on-screen instructions.

By using 2FA on Facebook, you can enhance your account security and protect your personal information from hackers and scammers.

You may also want to consider setting up this 2FA feature for other social media platforms or your email.

Article 7: 5 Essential Tips to Optimize Your Google My Business Page

If you want to attract more customers and boost your online reputation, you need to optimize your Google My Business (GMB) page. A GMB page is a free and easy way to showcase your business on Google Search and Maps. It allows you to provide important information about your business, such as your location, hours, services, reviews, and more.

But having a GMB page is not enough. You need to make sure that it is updated, accurate, and engaging. Here are five essential tips to optimize your GMB page and get the most out of it:

1. Make sure that you use the same Name, Address, and Phone Number (NAP) across all your online presence. This includes your website, social media profiles, directories, and other platforms. Having consistent NAP information helps Google to recognize and rank your business better. It also avoids confusion and frustration for your potential customers.

2. Provide business categories and subcategories. When you create or edit your GMB page, you can choose up to 10 categories and subcategories that describe your business. This helps Google to understand what your business does and match it with relevant searches. For example, if you are a plumber, you can choose "Plumber" as your primary category and "Water Heater Repair Service" as a subcategory.

3. Mention the areas you serve. If you offer services at your customers' locations, you can specify the areas you serve on your GMB page. This helps Google to show your business to people who are looking for your services in those areas. For example, if you are a plumber who serves Seattle and Bellevue, you can add those cities as your service areas.

4. Increase your visibility with eye-catching visuals. Adding photos and videos to your GMB page can make it more appealing and trustworthy. According to Google, businesses with photos get 42% more requests for directions and 35% more clicks to their websites than businesses without photos. You can upload photos of your products, services, team, location, logo, and more.

5. Provide consistent and rich content with GMB posts. GMB posts are short updates that you can publish on your GMB page. They can include text, images, videos, links, offers, events, and more. You can use GMB posts to share news, promotions, tips, testimonials, or anything else that might interest your customers. GMB posts can help you to keep your page fresh and engaging.

Optimizing your GMB page can have a significant impact on your online visibility and reputation. It can help you to attract more customers, generate more leads, and grow your business. But it can also be time-consuming and challenging.

That's why I'm here to help. I'm a professional digital marketer who specializes in GMB optimization. I can help you to create and manage your GMB page with best practices and tips. I can also help you with other aspects of your online marketing strategy.

Article 6: What is Digital Marketing and how can it help your business?

If you want to grow your business in today's competitive and digital world, you need to leverage the power of Digital Marketing. Digital Marketing is not just a buzzword, but a strategic and effective way to reach and connect with your target audience online. In this blog post, I will explain what Digital Marketing is and how it can help your business achieve its goals.

What is Digital Marketing?

Digital Marketing is a form of marketing that uses electronic devices and the internet to promote brands and connect with potential customers. It can take many forms, such as online video, display ads, social media posts, email marketing, and text messages. Digital Marketing can help businesses reach a wider audience, increase brand awareness, generate leads, and boost sales.

Benefits of Digital Marketing:

- It is more cost-effective and can reach a larger and more targeted audience. Unlike traditional marketing methods, such as TV, radio, or print ads, Digital Marketing allows you to tailor your message and budget to your specific audience and goals. You can also track and optimize your campaigns in real-time and measure your return on investment (ROI).

- It allows for more measurability and analysis of the campaign performance and customer behaviour. With Digital Marketing, you can access various tools and platforms that provide you with data and insights on how your campaigns are performing and how your customers are interacting with your brand online. You can use this information to improve your marketing strategy and make data-driven decisions.

- It enables more interaction and engagement with the customers and prospects. Digital Marketing allows you to communicate with your audience in a more personal and direct way. You can use social media, email marketing, or chatbots to answer their questions, address their concerns, or solicit their feedback. You can also create engaging and interactive content that encourages them to take action or share it with others.

- It helps to build brand awareness and reputation online. Digital Marketing can help you establish your brand identity and voice online and differentiate yourself from your competitors. You can use content marketing, SEO (search engine optimization), or influencer marketing to showcase your expertise, values, or social proof. You can also use online reviews, testimonials, or referrals to build trust and credibility with your audience.

- It offers more flexibility and versatility in creating and modifying marketing content. Digital Marketing allows you to create various types of content that suit your audience's preferences and needs. You can use text, images, videos, audio, or animations to convey your message and capture their attention. You can also easily update or change your content based on the feedback or results you get.

How to get started with Digital Marketing?

If you want to start using Digital Marketing for your business, you need to have a clear goal, a well-defined audience, a compelling offer, and a suitable channel. You also need to have a plan for creating, distributing, and measuring your marketing content. Here are some steps you can follow:

- Define your goal: What do you want to achieve with Digital Marketing? Do you want to increase brand awareness, generate leads, or boost sales? How will you measure your success?

- Identify your audience: Who are you trying to reach with Digital Marketing? What are their demographics, interests, pain points, or goals? How do they use the internet or consume digital content?

- Craft your offer: What value do you provide to your audience? What problem do you solve or what benefit do you deliver? How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors?

- Choose your channel: Where will you reach your audience online? What platforms or devices do they use? What type of content do they prefer or respond to?

- Create your content: How will you communicate your offer to your audience? What tone, style, or format will you use? How will you make it engaging, relevant, or persuasive?

- Distribute your content: How will you deliver your content to your audience? What frequency, timing, or budget will you use? How will you optimize your content for search engines or social media algorithms?

- Measure your results: How will you track and analyze your campaign performance? What metrics or indicators will you use? How will you use the data and insights to improve your marketing strategy?

Conclusion

Digital Marketing is a powerful and essential tool for any business that wants to grow online. It can help you reach a larger and more targeted audience, increase brand awareness, generate leads, and boost sales. It can also help you measure and optimize your marketing efforts and make data-driven decisions.

If you need help with Digital Marketing for your business, we are here for you. I can help you create and execute a customized and effective Digital Marketing strategy that suits your goals and budget.

Article 5: What is your business website situation?

First of all, why does your business need a website?

The main reason would be presence in the market and your area that you service. Mostly, a website hosts static information, information that doesn't change, but there are many businesses where information changes often and then you get into more complex websites and need experts managing these types of websites.

Do you already have a domain and website?

My advice is simple, keep your website information up to date. Your website should also be "current", not just with information, but the look and feel of the site should be relevant and fresh.

So, what if your business doesn't have a website?

You may have reasons why you don't have a website:

- don't have time

- expensive

- no time to manage the site

- not tech savvy

There is a cheap and easy solution if you're looking for something simple to manage... Google.

Yes, Google offers website hosting and it's cheap! The last time I set one up was earlier this year (2022) and it cost R250 for the year (not month, but entire year). I'll leave two links at the bottom of the latest Google websites I created.

Now you're asking, how does this work?

The main criteria is that your business is listed on Google and that you manage the Google Business Profile Manager / GBP (used to be known as Google My Business / GMB) for your business.

From here it's easy. Go into the GBP and the menu on the left side bar shows Website. Click this and then follow the steps.

All the info is pulled from your online Google info, that includes Business Info, Contact Details, Directions, Reviews, Posts, Photos, Services and Products are all pulled from Google and gets loaded onto your new website. This takes the hassle out of managing content and info on the website. Also, be sure to select one of the website templates that best represents your business.

Article 4: For my local Potchefstroom business network

Are you a LinkedIn user? There are 2 things I'd like to share with you.

1. For a long time now we did not have the option of entering Potchefstroom as the area we reside or even list our business as being located in Potchefstroom. The nearest or only option was to enter Vanderbijlpark. Luckily this has changed! Go ahead, update your location of work or business to Potchefstroom. This will certainly improve your business networking and visibility.

2. Many of my connections list their place of business, but then I see a standard grey logo next to the business name. This means that specific business is not listed on LinkedIn. There is an easy fix, but I first want to explain the downside to not having the business loaded on LinkedIn.

- All your business connections that work at the same business may not find each other.

- People searching for your business via LinkedIn will not find you either.

Any employee of the business can load the business profile. Yes, even a receptionist, admin person, director, owner or an HR person. The only criteria is that you currently work there.

Follow these steps (better done on a laptop or computer):

Next to the Me tab, you'll find the Work tab

Click the Work tab and at the very bottom, you'll find Create a Company Page +

Most of us work for a business / company, so click on Company

Fill in the page that appears (complete as much as possible - specially website and logo)

Once you've completed this, congrats, your company is on LinkedIn.

I'd suggest you share this with all your co-workers and you will all show that you work at the same company and this will boost the company's visibility on Google. Be sure to connect with me on LinkedIn.

Article 3: How visible is your business?

As business owners, we may think that we are doing a great job at marketing our business. Others may think they don’t have the time to market their business.

Answer this one question and judge for yourself how well you are marketing your business:

Can people find me online?

Go have a look yourself. If you Google your business, what do you see? Technically, you should see your business dominate the first page of Google. Your business details should also appear on the right side in a separate sidebar.

Google is the number one rated search tool online, and if your customers can’t find you here, you need to jump on this matter straight away.

Other online platforms include social media. Do you have your business set-up on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc? There is no need to be on all the social media platforms out there, but you need to be visible on the platforms where your specific customer demographics spend much of their time.

At present, Facebook and Instagram are losing users on a daily basis and there are many reasons for this. On the contrary, LinkedIn is gaining users on a daily basis and there are also many valid reasons for this.

You can be sure that with the right digital marketing strategy, you will reach a large number of potential customers.

Article 2: There is no doubt, I'm a huge fan of LinkedIn. Why?

Here are my top 5 reasons for using LinkedIn;

1.     It's easy to connect with current and old colleagues

2.     It's even easier to connect with like minded professionals

3.     Great articles and content to enjoy and learn from (unlike Facebook)

4.     Learning opportunities with the paid version - something like 16,000+ online courses

5.     Finally, keeping track / record of work experience. The day you need to print your CV quickly, well guess what, that's a feature on LinkedIn. It prints / downloads your work experience in the format of a CV. It automatically uses your profile pic, uses the bio you wrote, lists accomplishments, has your education listed and your work experience has the timeline included.

The paid LinkedIn version is called LinkedIn Premium and the one I am currently using is LinkedIn Career, which is R450 per month (as of May 2022). If you don't see that price, then send them a quick mail and LinkedIn will get you sorted.

LinkedIn Career is great for me as I get to build my knowledge with their online courses and I get access to professionals in my area.

Anyone wanting to get LinkedIn Premium and not sure which option they want to subscribe to, there is a breakdown with benefits and prices. You'll automatically see the price breakdown in ZAR unless you hide your VPN, in which case you'll then see the USD prices. The benefits and features remain the same.

If you haven't yet, be sure to join the LinkedIn network and be sure to connect with me, Warren Wolmarans.

Article 1: What your clients really think of your business is IMPORTANT

As part of any of my marketing strategies for new and existing clients, I always discuss the importance of reviews, but more specifically, Google Reviews.

Stating the obvious first, when someone is looking for a service or product and they have never used your business before, trust me when I say, people do their homework. Much like some becoming Google doctors during the pandemic, people will search on search engines, like Google and social media pages, like Facebook.

As Facebook is losing users everyday, people are returning back to their local communities. As many of us hate WhatsApp groups, we use them as reference for local services we need, but I personally try and avoid these groups and use Google.

Okay, getting back to the point.. Google Reviews.

Google Reviews boosts your SEO presence. The more your site is visited, the more people see your business online and then I say, it becomes a snowball effect.

It's also great that you can see how recent the best or worst reviews were posted (this is mainly for people browsing and finding relevant reviews).

You want to know what clients think of your business... The good, boosts your business. The bad is used to correct what is not working so well.

My suggestion, ask your clients to leave you a Google Review and take that extra step, ask that they write someone and post a photo. This is all great for your business visibility.

Make Google Reviews part of your marketing plan.
